My daughter Katherine started work for Lost Art Press this week with a bang. Monday was fulfilling orders (300 came in over the weekend). Tuesday was all about learning to edit video (including this one) and making a carved woodblock. And today she learned all about keyways and pulleys to fix the band saw at our warehouse.
It is never dull here. I wouldn’t call it chaotic, but there is always lots to do.
So as Kale completes their apprenticeship in the coming months and Katherine begins hers, we asked Kale to come up with some suggestions for us and Katherine on how to improve the experience for Apprentice No. 2.
The conversation above is the result.
Note that Kale is staying on here after their apprenticeship ends. I hope it will be for many years. Their title will be “journeyperson” (unless we come up with something better that Kale likes).
So happy to hear Kale is staying! Good luck to your daughter
Congratulations to Kale. It’s always a treat to read their work see the craftsmanship of their work.
Welcome to Katherine. Be careful Chris they may take over and put out of work.
