So, does this count as your final apprentice chair or do you still need to do one on your own at the shop.

By the way all the chairs look great in the pic.

I’m pretty sure that chairs made in classes don’t count towards the total, and the final chair has to be designed by her.

Ha! Ha! “Expert” woodworkers? You were done each step before all of us. 😄. More like expert eaters - we sure did feast. What an awesome week.

Glad you’re had such a great time! The chair looks great.

I'm taking this class with Peter Follansbee at the end of the month. Excited to see so many folks keeping Jennie's legacy alive. Time to go sharpen the spokeshave.

Looks like you met up with part of “Los Diablos de OKBB.” Be careful around them, rumor has it that a popular woodworking teacher refused to teach a specific chair class for over three years after teaching them!

Looks like you all had a great time and made some beautiful chairs! Awesome work!

I’ve heard of them too. Legend says they reduced another woodworking teacher to drinking wine out of a can!

I have a drawknife but I'm afraid to use it on a real project. It seems like it would want to just dive bomb past my line and down into the work. How did you like using it?

LOVE IT! Its great at removing lots of material but you can also get fine cuts if you get the angle right. Draw knife wants to be your friend

Steve Nicholson's avatar

Ok, then. Draw knife and I will work on our friendship. Thanks.
